- Every Tuesday I sit on a bench in Lake Park, watching the hairstyles of people passing by and designing them in my head — 'Some layers would look so pretty on that person.' At home, I practice updos on my mannequin head 'Sunja' until late at night.

- The Gunsan-style blue crab stew my mom used to make, and the banh mi (a Vietnamese sandwich of meat and veggies in a baguette) I eat alone after closing. I always ask for lots of cilantro in my banh mi.

- Someday I'm going to open a tiny salon with just three chairs in a seaside alley in Gunsan. For kids who have no one to tie their hair, I'll braid it pretty for free.
